I bought this to replace our infant carrier and man I should have just bought this first!! It is soooo comfortable for baby, at 10 months she falls asleep every time we are in the car now. Also, long trips have been breezy and we travel a lot. Recommend this seat 100%!

I bought two of these for my twins. My primary car seats are Britax Roundabout 50s. Comparing those to these is like comparing a Mercedes to a Kia, but these Cosco seats are perfectly adequate for my second car that I use for quick trips to the store on weekends and sometimes for short trips to or from daycare during the week. I give them four stars rather than five because (1) they aren’t blue as advertised (they’re black) and (2) I had some trouble installing them rear-facing using the latch system in an Acura TSX. I had to get a really strong neighbor to pull the straps tight enough. It takes brute force. Also, the seats don’t recline quite as much as I would like them to. When I tried putting a pool noodle under the front to recline them more, we couldn’t get the latch straps tight enough. Another thing potential buyers should be aware of: Some Cosco Sceneras seem to have more padding in them and have higher quality fabric than others. I looked at a couple of Sceneras in a Target store that were cheaper than the pair I ultimately bought here at Amazon. The Target seats had no padding in them at all and had really cheap fabric. The seats I bought from Amazon were, I think, $10 or $15 more expensive but have nicer fabric and extra padding.

The seat is a great price and my daughter loves it. I thought the color was true to picture I have the green one. And the seat is comfy, and easy to put together and adjust the straps. I am happy with it!!

My 1-year old likes it. The material is a little thin, so it feels like you’re sitting right on the plastic frame with no cushion. Installing was easy. straps easy to adjust, and they are rather wide. For the price you’re paying I think it’s a very good deal, I am getting a 2nd one like this for the 2nd car.

This carseat was purchased to take on airline travel only. It was lightweight, easy to install, and a great price. I would recommend this seat to anyone needing to travel with a carseat. Very nice seat for the price.

This is a really nice carseat. My daughter seems really comfortable in it. It is a little bit of a tight fit in my Mitsubishi Lancer, but it fits great in my husband’s Nissan Titan. Easy to install with LATCH system. Color is nice.

I bought this seat for my granddaughter to be installed in my car when we have her. Installation went pretty smooth and there are many adjustments to get it just right for her. As she grows it’s pretty easy to make changes with the harness without having to remove the seat, Bottom line-good quaulity, well thought out, glad we have it.

My son is an average sized boy, but will reach 40 pounds probably several months before he’s likely to hit 43 inches tall. The result: I have to buy a new car seat to hold him untill he’s tall enough to use this seat as a belt positioning booster. That’s what their customer support line told me. Apparently, the harness is only safe to 40 lbs, but the seat isn’t safe to use as a belt positioning booster till they’re 43 inches tall. On top of that, the straps are a nightmare to adjust every time you buckkle your child in. I hate this car seat. I bought it because it was supposed to be the only one I’d ever need, but after needing the baby carrier and now an interum seat, I would have been better off buying almost any other seat on the market!

Just purchased this for my one year old! He loves it. We were able to put it in the middle of the back seat (as required) and he loves the view.
It was easy to instal and looks very comfortable!

I am reviewing this car seat based on its use in my Audi Q7(small SUV). I had two of these seats professionally installed for free by our local family resource center(highly suggested). One is rear-facing for my 3 month old and the other is forward-facing for my 2 year old. PROS: The seat seems comfortable, easy to clean, is nice looking and was affordable for a seat that can be used up to 50 lbs. The harness is easy to tighten with a turn of either one of the side knobs, but not as easy to loosen(though still not difficult). CONS: I am having difficulty accessing the harness tightening knobs located on each side of the rear-facing car seat because of how closely wedged they are to the back seat of my SUV. This may be because the seats are slightly bucket style. This is obviously not a problem with the forward-facing seat. I am also having a hard time pressing the buttons on the chest clip as well as the crotch clip. Hopefully this will improve with frequent use over time. I also wish the seat reclined just a little more for my toddler, but I am sure this varies based on how reclined and deep the back seat of your vehicle is. Initially, I was worried I would lose any space in my center seat because of how wide these car seats are, but that was not the case. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. The cushions and cup holder are nice additions. However, I would add shoulder strap covers so the red harness tabs don’t irritate your little one.

This is the second car seat we have purchased for our one year old daughter. We bought a Marathon for my husbands car (which has the latch system) and is the car we use more often. We wanted something more economical for my car, so based on the reviews I bought this one. My car (a 1999 Toyota Camry) does not have the latch system. I was able to belt this car seat in very tightly.

You do not have to rethread the straps in this car seat to move them up and down. While this is obviously convenient, I was a little concerned about them moving around with using the car seat every day. That isn’t the case at all. They stay in place despite the fact she is put in and taken out of it at least once a day.

I highly recommend this car seat.

I really like this car seat so far. It seems very sturdy, and it’s easy to get my son in and out of it. The only thing that is frustrating is the gauge on the side that loosens and tightens the straps. Tightening them is no problem, but to release them and make them looser takes a stronger thumb pressure than I can muster up. Everything else about it I love.

We’ve really enjoyed having the Evenflo Triumph Advance LX car seat, we’ve been using it almost a month now. We really like the ability to adjust the tension on the straps so we can really get our child secure. She’s very comfortable while in the seat. She’s almost 10 months at this point and is still in the rear facing mode. Even in the most reclined setting though she sits up high and is able to see out the windows, which she loves. Not sure I’d put my newborn in the seat even with the extra padding because it does sit so upright. Also love the ability to loosen the straps to get her out too. The covering vacuums up great and the graham crackers haven’t stuck to it either. I think it will wear well.

It is really easy to install rear-facing, and a little trickier to install forward-facing. I wouldn’t recommend trying to install it the first time in a hurry, or while sleep-deprived, but once you figure it out it is easy-peasy to do again. The seat is sturdy and seems to be very safe and well-made. I think it was well worth the price, and as a concerned new parent it was very comforting to get this seat in the mail, after considering seats in the store that weren’t as nice. I remember going back in my son’s room quite a bit before he was born, and every time I went in there I would look over this seat with a feeling of accomplishment. Yeah, that is pretty goofy, but aside from his crib it was the nicest/most expensive thing we bought when getting everything ready for the baby. It, unlike a bunch of other baby products we bought, was not something I regret buying.

I’ve had to fuss around with the buckles and other parts as my son has grown out of one setting or another, and I’ve had to take it apart to clean it out a couple times. Nothing was difficult to do. It all comes apart and goes back together without a lot of trouble, and nothing comes apart when it isn’t supposed to. I’ve been using it for about a year now.

I started off with a (hand-me-down) infant-style seat when my son was first born, and definitely prefer this seat. I think it is a lot more comfortable than the infant seat we had, and I think my son felt the same way (he wasn’t as fussy about being put in it). For the same amount of money you could get two cheap seats – one for an infant, and one for a toddler, or you could get one seat that does both jobs, is easy to use, and that is worthy of admiration.

For an infant, you might want to get one of those c-shaped pads for supporting the head while the baby sleeps. Some seats come with it, this one doesn’t, but they sell them just about everywhere and they aren’t expensive.

I did have to cut the instruction book out (it is attached inside the seat with a short cord) so I could read it and install the seat at the same time.

Freeborn June 18, 2010 at 11:25 am

It may be safer than the others but the way it is made with the gaps and the straps going over the legs it doesn’t seem safe to me. Not to mention after the first month of owning it the buckle stopped clicking so you don’t know if it is really in well. Maybe I have a dud but I will never spend another fortune on a Britax when I like Graco better.

Jantzen June 18, 2010 at 11:06 pm

We searched a long time and were happy with the safety features of this seat. As a bonus, it is made in North Carolina, so we were glad to support some jobs in a state that has been so hard hit in the recession.

Coronado June 19, 2010 at 11:19 am

We already had one of these and liked it so much that we bought a second one for our other car. We tried a Graco car seat but it wouldn’t fit in either of our cars. Actually, it was such an odd shape I couldn’t see how it would fit in any car. This one is perfect and from all the research we did, we found it was one of the safest and best reviewed.

Ferman June 19, 2010 at 10:37 pm

This is a good car seat for the low price but it does not have padding. It is nice that it is small and lightweight so if you need to move it from one car to another it’s easy or if you have a small car it fits well but your child may not be comfortable on long trips due to the complete absence of any padding or cushioning. I just use it for the baby’s grandfather’s car but use a more comfortable one in our car since he rides in it more often.
